April 10, 2009 - Killings Words

But they all cried out together, “Away with this man, and release to us Barabbas”—a man who had been thrown into prison for an insurrection started in the city and for murder. Pilate addressed them once more, desiring to release Jesus, but they kept shouting, “Crucify, crucify him!” A third time he said to them, “Why, what evil has he done? I have found in him no guilt deserving death. I will therefore punish and release him.” But they were urgent, demanding with loud cries that he should be crucified. And their voices prevailed. So Pilate decided that their demand should be granted. He released the man who had been thrown into prison for insurrection and murder, for whom they asked, but he delivered Jesus over to their will
(Luke 23:18-24)

Think about this situation: put yourself in the shoes of the commoners. What would you have done if you saw your Savior being put on trial and being sentenced to death on the cross when he was clearly innocent?

Putting yourself in lets say, YOUR OWN shoes at that time, would something have happened putting aside the fact that Jesus was destined to die for us? Personally, I would be too afraid. Knowing that Jesus, the guy under God, was being put through this; how much could I do then? This, I believe, comes down to how much faith we do have in God. The faith of what we are capable of doing and what we are not capable of doing. Under God, all things are possible no?

Short blog. Long talk :)

Amen.
